TrustSays has no app in the Shopify App Store. The connection is made with webhooks that you create yourselves in your shop. It takes about five minutes.
Step 1: The shop's address
- Open Invitations in the dashboard and choose the Automatic tab.
- Choose Connect next to Shopify.
- Enter The shop's address, e.g. shop.myshopify.com, and choose Continue.
Step 2: Create webhooks in Shopify
- Choose Approve access. TrustSays only gets access to orders and customers, not to payments or cards.
- Copy the Webhook address with Copy.
- Open Shopify → Settings → Notifications → Webhooks, and choose "Create webhook".
- Create two webhooks with the address from TrustSays: "Order payment" and "Order fulfillment". Format: JSON.
- If you want a cancelled order to stop the invitation, also create a webhook for "Order cancellation" with the same address.
- If you want to invite when the order is delivered, also create a webhook for the topic "fulfillment_events/create" (fulfillment events) with the same address.
- Copy the signing key that Shopify shows under webhooks, and paste it into the Shopify's signing key field. Choose Save the key.
Step 3: Timing and rules
Choose when the customer should be invited, how long to wait, and which orders should be skipped. Read Send invitations automatically.
- When the order is shipped uses the time the order is fulfilled in Shopify.
- When the order is delivered waits until Shopify reports the parcel as delivered via the webhook for "fulfillment_events/create". Shopify does this when the carrier updates the tracking. If the carrier never reports delivery, no invitation is sent. In that case, choose When the order is shipped.
- When the order is paid uses the time of payment.
Step 4: Test and go live
- Check the overview.
- Choose Send a test invitation to me. The test is sent to your own email and doesn't count towards the quota.
- Choose Go live.
Until you choose Go live, we only count the orders. No invitations are sent, and orders from before don't get one afterwards either.
The card shows Waiting for the first order until the first order comes in. After that it says Connected with the timing and waiting time.
Good to know
- The email is sent in the customer's language from the shop when we know it.
- Orders without an email address can't be invited.
- Shopify doesn't report refunds to us with these webhooks. Only cancellations stop an invitation.
- Complete all four steps in one go, so the first orders get the right settings.
